Eine schwarze US-Amerikanerin, die seit kurzem in Berlin lebt, ist schockiert über ihre Erfahrungen in dieser Stadt:
Before I moved to Berlin, I heard nothing but positive comments about the city. Every day that I leave my house I am constantly berated. I am stared at as if I am a unicorn by loads of people. I have experienced catcalling in loads of cities, but what I am calling Berlin out for is the fact that my race is brought into every cat call. I no longer hear “hello sexy woman” I hear “hello beautiful darkie” “snickers bar, come here” “I’m speaking to you, African beauty” “chocolate Africa”.
